Finding Confidence and a Career Path Through a Business Traineeship

News

When Indigo began his Business Traineeship with Work & Training, he was looking for more than just a job. After working in retail, he wanted to explore new opportunities and find a career path that felt right for him.

What he found was confidence, direction, and a clearer vision for his future.

At the time, stepping into a business environment felt daunting. It was a completely new experience, and like many people starting something unfamiliar, Indigo wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

“At the start, I felt really nervous as I hadn’t worked in a business or office environment before.”

That uncertainty didn’t last long.

Through his traineeship, Indigo was given the opportunity to learn on the job, take on new responsibilities, and build practical skills in a real workplace. As he gained experience, he became more confident in his abilities and more comfortable stepping outside his comfort zone.

“When I started, I had no idea how to handle a lot of these responsibilities. Now I can confidently manage my workload and take initiative.”

For Indigo, the biggest change wasn’t just learning new workplace skills, it was the personal growth that came with them.

With support from those around him and the chance to learn by doing, he developed the confidence to back himself, take on challenges, and trust in what he was capable of achieving.

“Building my confidence has been the biggest change. I’ve grown into a much stronger and more capable version of myself.”

While completing his BSB30120 Certificate III in Business is an achievement he’s proud of, the traineeship gave him something even more valuable: clarity about his future.

Through the experience, Indigo discovered that he genuinely enjoys working in a business environment and can see himself building a long-term career in the industry.

“This traineeship helped me realise that I really enjoy working in a business environment and want to pursue this long term.”

Stories like Indigo’s highlight the impact a traineeship can have. Beyond gaining a qualification, traineeships provide people with the opportunity to build confidence, develop practical skills, explore career pathways, and discover what they’re capable of achieving.

As he looks to the future, Indigo is excited to keep growing both personally and professionally.

His advice for anyone considering a traineeship is simple:

“A traineeship is a great way to grow as a person, build confidence, and figure out where you want your career to go.”

At Work & Training, we’re proud to support people like Indigo as they build skills, gain experience, and discover rewarding career pathways through work-based learning.
