The IntoWork Group is proud to be supporting three of Australia’s best apprentices and trainees at the Australian Training Awards in Adelaide on Friday night (November 18, 2022).

Tasmanian trainee Natasha Robbins took out her state’s top award for her commitment to both her work and training with host employer Hopkins Dental in the Trainee of the Year category. Natasha, who is employed through Work & Training, (part of the IntoWork Group) says her traineeship had the greatest impact on her life, “It challenges me every day and provides the most rewarding feeling at every step,” she says. She will vie for the National Title.

Tasmanian former apprentice carpenter Jack Wilson will compete in the Apprentice of the Year category after he took out the state award. Jack was signed up by Mas National, part of IntoWork Australia, and recently completed his four-year apprenticeship at Crusader Homes. Jack says mateship is one of the most important lessons he has learned from his experiences of becoming a qualified carpenter.

South Australian apprentice Sakina Qambari will represent her state in the School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year category. The Renmark High School Year 11 student migrated to Australia with her family from Pakistan and Afghanistan. Sakina was signed up by Mas National, and recently completed a Certificate III in Hospitality.

Having only worked in the hospitality industry for a year and a half at Renmark Club, Sakina said she is still exploring her options, however, would like to continue gaining more experience in different sectors of the hospitality industry so she can be better exposed to the opportunities that come with it.

IntoWork Australia Group CEO, Poul Bottern, congratulated Natasha, Jack and Sakina for their nominations in the national awards, “They’re wonderful representatives of their state and the value of apprenticeships and traineeships as a career pathway. The IntoWork Australia Group is proud to support the growth of a skilled workforce whether through our apprenticeship service, registered training organisation, or group training organisation”.
