Tarma, a hardworking and dedicated student, on her way to earning a Certificate III in Retail through Tasmanian Divers and exploring the underwater world.

Meet Tarma, a hardworking, dedicated and remarkable Work & Training student. Tarma has been studying for a Certificate III in Retail qualification and is on track to complete her course by the end of June 2023. She is completing this while employed by Tasmanian Divers – a business in Invermay and trained by Work & Training.

Tarma has always been passionate about the ocean and diving and took the opportunity to complete her PADI Divemaster training while employed with Tasmanian Divers. Her enthusiasm for the underwater world is contagious and she loves to show others how amazing and diverse the underwater environment can be. She has now been able to help plan and lead dives with Tasmanian Divers customers and her knowledge and understanding of the underwater world has grown immensely. She loves to share her passion with others and hopes to inspire people to go on their own underwater journey.

At the end of last year Tarma went to Egypt with Tasmanian Divers for 18 days, touring the country and diving the Red Sea. In a few months she will be heading to Palau with a group of customers for 8 days. Tarma was able to network with professionals from around the world and gain an understanding of how the industry works while also experiencing a new culture and seeing some amazing sights. The experience provided Tarma with knowledge and skills needed for her studies and to become more confident and knowledgeable in her field.

She is an exemplary example of the power of perseverance, and her commitment to her studies is truly admirable as is her willingness to help others and her enthusiastic attitude towards learning make her a role model for young people everywhere. Tarma’s story is a great reminder to us all that anything is possible with enough effort and dedication.
